The annual WOMEX 09 trade fair takes place in Copenhagen, Denmark, from October 29 to November 1. This year, the Canada Council for the Arts is co-organizing a collective trade fair booth in partnership with Folquébec and CINARS to profile Canadians participating in this important event. WOMEX, an international professional market of world music, brings together professionals from the worlds of folk, roots, ethnic and traditional music and also includes concerts, conferences and documentary films. The fair allows music agents and artists to establish strong international relationships in order to further their professional careers.

Canada Council and its partners will host a cocktail on Friday, October 30, to which international concert and festival bookers, labels, distributors and radio broadcasters will be invited to meet with Canadian participants. The Association Folquébec official delegation consists of: Coop des Faux Monnayeurs (Montreal), EspaceTrad / SPDTQ (Montréal), FamGroup (Montréal), Indica Records (Montreal), Productions Casa Nostra (Montreal), Productions Amerix, Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu and La Prûche Libre, Sainte-Mélanie.
